Residential construction in the period of January-March 2022

In the first quarter of 2022, there were more dwellings completed than the year before. Whereas the number of dwellings for which permits have been granted or which have been registered with a construction project as well as dwellings in which construction has begun decreased.

Index numbers of construction and assembly production in March 2022

Acording to preliminary data construction and assembly production (in constant prices) carried out carried out domestically by construction enterprises employing more than 9 persons was in March 2022 by 27.6% higher than a year before (against a decrease of 10.8% the year before) and by 41.4% compared with February 2022 (an increase of 34.2% the year before).

Retail sales index - March 2022

In March 2022 retail sales at constant prices were by 9.6% higher than the year before (against an increase of 15.2% in March 2021). Compared with February 2022 retail sales increased by 16.4%. In the period of January-March2 2022 retail sales y/y were by 9.0% higher (against an increase of 1.2% in 2021).

The Statistics Poland information on the updated 2020-2021 quarterly GDP estimate

According to the final estimate gross domestic product (GDP) in 2020 decreased by 2.2% year-onyear comparison against 2.5% previously published. In 2021 GDP increased by 5.9% against 5.7% previously released.
