In 2020 the total amount of sold art and antiques amounted to PLN 591.2 million and increased by PLN 172.8 million in comparison to 2020. Participation in sport and physical recreation in 2021

In the period from 1.10.2020 to 30.09.2021, 38.8% of Poles (36.7% of females and 41.0% of males) participated in sports or recreational activities. They undertook physical activity mainly for pleasure and entertainment. The most frequent form of sport and recreational activities was cycling. The average cost incurred by a household for sport and recreational activities amounted to PLN 870, including the purchase of sports equipment – PLN 154.

Foreign trade turnover in January - March 2022 in exports at current prices amounted to PLN 361.5 bn, while in imports - PLN 391.5 bn. The negative balance reached the level of PLN 30.0 bn, while in the same period of 2021 year was positive and amounted to PLN 10.2 bn. In comparison to the corresponding period of 2021 exports increased by 18.0%, while imports by 32.3%.

Foster care in 2021

At the end of 2021, 72.3 thousand children deprived entirely or partly of their own family, were staying in foster care, of which 56.4 thousand children in family foster care and 15.9 thousand children in institutional foster care. In comparison to 2020 the number of children in foster care increased by 1.1%.

In April 2022, sold production of industry was by 13.0% higher than in April 2021, when an increase was recorded by 44.2% as compared to the previous year, whereas in comparison with March 2022, it decreased by 11.3%. In the period January- April of 2022, sold production of industry was by 15.1% higher than in the corresponding period of 2021, which saw an increase by 15.4%.

Work permits for foreigners in Poland in 2021

In 2021, more work permits for foreigners were issued in Poland than in the previous year. A similar situation took place in the years 2015–2019, when a systematic increase in the number of permits issued was observed in Poland. The exception was 2020, when an annual decrease in the number of work permits issued was observed, which could have been caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2021, 504.2 thousand work permits for foreigners were issued in Poland. There were 97.7 thousand more of them than in 2020 and 438.4 thousand more compared with 2015. They were still most often issued to Ukrainian citizens.

The situation of households in 2021 on the basis of results of the Household Budget Survey

In 2020, the financial situation of households slightly improved despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic , which had a significant impact on the level and structure of expenditure in particular. Households achieved both higher income and expenditure. An analytical publication developed for the purposes of monitoring the strategic goals included in the National Strategy of Regional Development 2030. The objective scope of the publication allows for an effective identification of the development needs of the Voivodship and supports regional analyses carried out in order to monitor the assumptions of public policy. Statistical data is presented in several thematic chapters characterising area and territorial division of the Voivodship, state of the environment, social potential including human capital and the quality of life of inhabitants, broadly understood economy including gross domestic product, economic situation, entrepreneurship, production and services as well as finances of local government units. The analytical part of the publication was preceded by an executive summary of basic tendencies occurring in social and economic areas. Selected categories of data are presented in dynamic terms as well as in relation to the whole country. The analytical commentary was enriched with the tabular and graphic form of data presentation in the extended time retrospection 2010-2021. For a more complete picture of the territorial diversity, selected statistical information is presented at the level of powiats and gminas. An important part of the Report are also review tables containing selected data on Śląskie Voivodship and Katowice in 2010-2021 and on cities with powiat status for the last available year.
