In 2024 the net financial result of the banking sector amounted to PLN 42.0 bn, in comparison with PLN 27.6 bn in 2023. The total bank balance sheets increased by 10.8% y/y and amounted to PLN 3 317.3 bn. The value of loans for the non-financial sector increased by 4.1% y/y to PLN 1 194.0 bn and the value of deposits of this sector increased by 7.8% y/y to PLN 1 943.2 bn.

The overall net financial result of insurance companies in 2024 was higher than a year earlier and amounted to PLN 10.0 billion (PLN 9.4 billion in 2023). This was mainly influenced by the improved performance of life insurance companies (Branch I), which increased by 17.1% year-on-year.

In the fourth quarter of 2024 prices of residential premises in Poland compared to the third quarter of 2024, increased by 1.2%.

In 2024, total revenues of surveyed enterprises amounted to 6,032.4 bn PLN and total costs of obtaining the revenues amounted to 5,755.7 bn PLN. Net financial result amounted to 223.5 bn PLN.
