This publication inaugurates a series of analytical studies on foreign trade, the aim of which is to present recipients of statistical data the specificity of phenomena related to conducting statistical surveys in this area.

Production, turnover, new orders, paid employment, average monthly gross wages and salaries, time worked, price indicators, investment outlays, current assets, sources of property financing, company financial indicators according to the average monthly gross wages and according to the net turnover profitability ratio.

It contains basic indices of the socio-economic situation of the country, presented in the monthly, quarterly and annual series, including, among others, the national accounts, information on demography, the labour market, wages and salaries, social benefits, prices, money supply, public finances and finances of non-financial enterprises, investment outlays, agriculture, industry, construction, transport, domestic and foreign trade, along with monthly or quarterly data characterising the socio-economic situation of voivodships and EU countries.

It provides a short-term analysis of phenomena and processes in the national economy, including monthly, quarterly and annual information, among others, on the labour market, prices, wages and salaries, basic areas of the national economy (agriculture, industry, construction, the domestic market, transport), foreign trade, money supply and public finances.

This is the first edition of statistical indicators describing quality of employment in broad and comprehensive way. The set of indicators for Poland is based on international recommendations and were calculated on the basis of the results of Central Statistical Office research. It covers five areas: safety and ethics in employment, income from employment, working time and work-life balance, security of employment and skills development.

Assessment of the situation of manufacturing, construction, trade and service enterprises is based upon the subjective opinions about actual and future business situation expressed by the directors of the surveyed companies.

It contains data on the size and structure of the population by sex and age in all local and administrative units of the country.
