According to preliminary data construction and assembly production (in constant prices) carried out domestically by construction enterprises employing more than 9 persons was in August 2020 by 12.1% lower than a year before (against an increase by 2.6% the year before) and by 3.5% lower compared with July 2020 (against an increase by 2.2% the year before).

In the period of eight months of 2020, there were more dwellings completed than the year before. The number of dwellings for which permits have been granted or which have been registered with a construction project and the number of dwellings in which construction has begun decreased.

Procurement prices of basic agricultural products decreased in August 2020 in comparison with the previous month (by 0.1%) as well as while compared to August 2019 (by 5.1%).

According to preliminary data in August 2020 the prices of construction and assembly production in comparison with the corresponding month of the previous year increased by 2.6% and in comparison with July 2020 - by 0.3%.

In August 2020, sold production of industry was by 1.5% higher than in August 2019, when a decrease was recorded by 1.5% as compared to the previous year, whereas in comparison with July 2020, it decreased by 5.8%. In the period January-August of 2020, sold production of industry was by 4.5% lower than in the corresponding period of 2019, which saw a growth by 4.3%.

According to preliminary data in August 2020 the prices of sold production of industry decreased in comparison with the corresponding month of the previous year by 1.2% and in comparison with July 2020 – by 0.3%.

In August 2020, average paid employment in enterprise sector was lower by 1.5% y/y and amounted to 6295.0 thousand, while average gross wages and salaries were higher by 4.1% y/y and amounted to 5337.65 PLN.

In June this year, 1.3 million tourists were accommodated in tourist accommodation establishments and 3.6 million overnight stays were provided for them. Compared to June 2019, this was lower by 63.6% and 61.1% respectively. A decrease in the number of tourists was also recorded in July 2020, compared to the corresponding month of the previous year; the number of persons accommodated was lower by about 34.7%, according to estimates.
