24,040 persons injured in accidents at work were reported in the first half of 2020, by 29.9% fewer than in the same period of 2019. The number of injured persons per 1,000 employed persons (the incidence rate) also decreased from 2.54 to 1.77 respectively.

14,140 persons injured in accidents at work were reported in the first quarter of 2020, by 10.5% fewer than in the first quarter of 2019. The number of injured persons per 1,000 employed persons also decreased (the so-called incidence rate) from 1.17 to 1.04 respectively.

At the end of the first quarter of 2020, the number of job vacancies in Poland, in entities of the national economy or in their local units employing at least 1 person, was 76.5 thousand and was 48.9 thousand or 39.0% lower than at the end of the fourth quarter of 2019. As compared to the end of the first quarter of 2019, the number of vacancies was lower by 65.9 thousand or 46.3%. At the end of the first quarter of 2020, there were still 16.2 thousand unfilled newly created jobs.

At the end of 2019, there were operating 271 health resort facilities. 858.0 thousand patients were admitted to health resort facilities during a year, of which 782.1 thousand were inpatients. 73.9 thousand inpatients were treated in 34 inpatient rehabilitation facilities.

In 2019 financial results of surveyed cultural institutions were higher in comparison to those achieved a year before. Assets (liabilities) as of 31 December 2019 amounted to PLN 18,615.7 million. Total revenues increased by 5.5% and total costs by 4.9%.

As of the end of 2019, 4255 centres of culture, cultural establishments, cultural centres, clubs and community centres were operating. During the year entities organised 243.8 thousand events, in which took part 37.5 million participants.

At the end of 2019, there were operating 12.3 thousand pharmacies (generally available and dispensaries) and 1.2 thousand pharmaceutical outlets in which 59.5 thousand pharmacists and pharmaceutical technicians were employed.

Consumer prices according to the flash estimate in May 2020, compared with the corresponding month of the previous year, increased by 2,9% (price index 102,9), and as related to the previous month decreased by 0,2% (price index 99,8).
