In Poland, in 2020, energy efficiency increased by 0.7% compared to 2019. In years 2011-2020, the annual growth rate of energy efficiency amounted to 1.5%. Primary energy intensity decreased during this period by an average of 2.8% per year, and the final energy intensity by 2.2%. The fastest rate of improvement in energy efficiency was recorded in transport (by 2.3%/year).

As of 31 December 2021, there were 1,218.2 thousand people enrolled in higher education institutions in Poland, by 2.9 thousand more than in the previous year. 297.4 thousand graduates received diplomas in the 2020/21 academic year, by 3.9 thousand more than in 2019/20.

Foreign trade turnover in January-April 2022 in exports at current prices amounted to PLN 487.0 bn, while in imports - PLN 532.3 bn. The negative balance reached the level of PLN 45.3 bn, while in the same period of 2021 year was positive and amounted to PLN 17.1 bn. In comparison to the corresponding period of 2021 exports increased by 17.3%, while imports by 33.7%.

In March 2022, 2.4 million people, including 1.8 million domestic tourists and 456.1 thousand persons from abroad, were accommodated in tourist accommodation establishments in Poland. Additionally, 163.8 thousand refugees from war-stricken Ukraine found shelter in accommodation establishments during this period.

At the end of the first quarter of 2022, there were 158.7 thousand job vacancies in Poland, 44.0% more than in the corresponding period of the previous year. Over the year, the number of newly created jobs decreased slightly (by 1.0%). On the other hand, the number of jobs liquidated during the quarter increased (by 16.6%). In the first quarter of 2022, there were 2.3 newly created jobs per liquidated job.
