According to preliminary data, at the end of 2020, the number of employed persons in the national economy was 15.8 million persons. It was 1.8% lower than at the end of 2019.

As of 31 December 2020, 1,215.3 thousand people were enrolled in higher education institutions in Poland, by 11.3 thousand more than in the previous year. In the 2019/20 academic year, 293.4 thousand graduates received diplomas, by 20.4 thousand fewer than in the 2018/19 academic year.

10,891 persons injured in accidents at work were reported in the first quarter of 2021, by 23.0% fewer than in the first quarter of 2020. The number of injured persons per 1,000 employed persons (the incidence rate) also decreased from 1.04 to 0.81 respectively.

At the end of the first quarter of 2021, the number of job vacancies in Poland, in the entities of the national economy (parent units or their local units) employing at least 1 person, was 110.2 thousand and was 25.8 thousand or 30.6% higher than at the end of the fourth quarter of 2020.
