Foreign trade turnover[1] in January – December 2022 (based on temporary data[2]) in exports at current prices amounted to PLN 1 607.3 bn, while in imports - PLN 1 699.8 bn. The negative balance reached the level of PLN 92.5 bn, while in the same period of 2021 year was negative and amounted to PLN 7.0 bn. In comparison to the corresponding period of 2021 exports increased by 22.1%, while imports by 28.5%.

According to the flash estimate, gross domestic product (GDP) in volume terms seasonally unadjusted was higher by 2.0% in the 4th quarter of 2022 year-to-year against 8.5% increase in the corresponding period of 2021.

As at the end of January 2023 the REGON register included 4 999.5 thous. of national economy entities, i.e. by 0.1% more than a month before (3.4% more than in the corresponding period of the previous year).

In the fourth quarter of 2022, there were 86 291 registrations of enterprises recorded i.e. 2.6% less than in the corresponding period of previous year and 112 enterprises declared bankruptcy i.e. 28.7% more than in the corresponding period of previous year.
