In Poland, in the fourth quarter of 2022, the state of epidemic threat in connection with SARS-CoV-2 infections was still in force. Solutions were still in place to prevent and counter the spread of the said virus. These solutions are also applicable to the labour market. Among them, for instance, is the possibility of working from outside a permanent workplace, that is remote work. The data presented in this publication were obtained from the Labour Demand Survey.

At the end of the fourth quarter of 2022, there were 115.7 thousand job vacancies in Poland, 15.8% fewer than in the end of the fourth quarter of 2021. The job vacancy rate in the fourth quarter of 2022 was 0.92%. Both the number of newly created jobs and the number of liquidated jobs decreased on a year-over-year basis (by 21.3% and 14.3%, respectively).

In February the assessments of general business climate indicator are at a slightly higher or similar level as in January in all presented kinds of activities. In all areas it is below the long-term mean . In majority of researched areas “diagnostic” components deteriorate, whereas “forecast” ones improve in all sectors.

Publication Demographic Yearbook of Poland 2022

The Yearbook contains the basic information on the numbers and structure of the population of Poland in 2021, and retrospective data prepared on the basis of population summaries and data on vital statistics (characteristics of new marriages, adjudged divorces and separations, births and deaths), as well as lifespan. Moreover, in the yearbook information about internal and international population migrations, and a short version of the international comparison was presented.

In the first three quarters of 2022 financial results of cultural institutions increased in comparison to results obtained in the corresponding period of the previous year. Total revenues increased by 20.2% during this period. Investment outlays increased by 25.8%.

Statistics in focus The demand for labour in the third quarter of 2022

At the end of the third quarter of 2022, there were 135.5 thousand job vacancies in Poland, 11.7% fewer than in the corresponding period of the previous year. Over the year, the number of newly created jobs decreased (by 9.1%), whereas the number of jobs liquidated increased (by 24.0%). In the third quarter of 2022, there were 1.7 newly created jobs per liquidated job.
