In December 2019, the number of employees in the national economy receiving gross wages and salaries not exceeding the statutory minimum wage and salary amounted to around 1.5 million and in comparison with the corresponding period of the previous year increased by 1.4% (compared to a 3.7% decrease recorded in December 2018 in relation to the previous year).

The largest number of employees in the national economy receiving in December 2019 wages and salaries not exceeding the statutory minimum wage and salary, as in previous years, were employed in the trade; repair of motor vehicles section (401 thousand), followed by sections: manufacturing (291 thousand), construction (225 thousand), transportation and storage (120 thousand) administrative and support service activities (111 thousand).
