According to preliminary data, the average paid employment in the national economy in 2023 was 11.0 million full-time equivalent employees. There were 0.1% more of them compared with the previous year.
In 2023, the largest number of full-time equivalent employees were concentrated in the Manufacturing section – 22.8% of the total average paid employment. Relative to 2022, the average paid employment decreased in six sections, with the largest decreases in the Manufacturing and Construction sections (by 1.3% and 1.2% respectively). Relative to 2022, the average paid employment increased the most in the Information and communication (by 3.1%) and Professional, scientific and technical activities (by 3.0%) sections.
