Activity of enterprises with up to 9 persons employed in 2024



In 2024, there were 2 367.6 thousand enterprises operating in Poland with up to 9 persons employed (microenterprises). Their number increased by 66.3 thousand units, i.e., 2.9%, compared to the previous year. This group was dominated by entities with at most 1 person employed, accounting for 77.5% of total microenterprises.
The number of persons employed in microenterprises in 2024 amounted to 4 487.1 thousand, which was an increase of 59.3 thousand, compared to the previous year. Average paid employment in microenterprises in 2024 reached 1 504.0 thousand persons, marking a 0.3% increase year-on-year. The total gross wage costs in 2024 amounted to PLN 95.0 billion (an increase of 10.3% y/y), and the monthly gross wages and salaries per 1 paid employee amounted to PLN 5 264 (an increase of 9.9% y/y). In 2024, the total revenues of the presented population of entities reached PLN 2 092.8 billion, while total costs amounted to PLN 1 707.7 billion (an increase of 5.6% and 5.1%, respectively, compared to the previous year). The gross financial result per microenterprise in 2024 increased to PLN 162.6 thousand (by 5.1% y/y), and the cost level indicator for microenterprises was 81.6% (compared to 82.0% in 2023).
