Forestry in 2021
As of 31 December 2021, forest land area comprised
9467.5 thousand ha, with forest area amounting to
9264.7 thousand ha, which was 29.6% of the area of
the country. In 2021, forest renewals covered
65.8 thousand ha and afforestation – 0.6 thousand ha.
In 2021, in comparison with the previous year,
a recorded increase in total removals amounted to
42244.2 thousand m3 (a growth by 6.9%), and timber
removals – 40691.6 thousand m3.

Economic poverty rates in Poland in 2021
Since 2016, the extreme poverty rate has remained at a similar level of 4–5%. There was a year-on-year decrease in extreme poverty rate from about 5% of people in 2020 to about 4% in 2021 and slightly larger decrease in legal poverty rate from about 9% to less than 7% with the threshold for this poverty unchanged since 2018. On the other hand, the value of the relative poverty rate (about 12%) was at a similar level as in 2020.

Według wstępnych wyników NSP 2021 liczba mieszkań i budynków wyposażonych w poszczególne instalacje i urządzenia techniczne zwiększyła się w porównaniu z wynikami uzyskanymi w NSP2011. Poprawa stopnia wyposażenia była efektem inwestycji gmin w rozwój infrastruktury technicznej sieci, przeprowadzonych remontów mających na celu podniesienie standardu zamieszkania najstarszych zasobów, jak również znacznej liczby dobrze wyposażonych budynków i mieszkań oddawanych do użytku.

Environment 2021
In 2021, there was an increase noticed in water withdrawal for the needs of the national economy[1] and population by approximately 7% compared to the previous year, the amount of generated industrial and municipal wastewater increased by approximately 6%, there was a reduction of emission of particulate pollutants from plants of significant nuisance to air quality by 2%, and there was an increase in emitted of gaseous pollutants by 13%. There was a reduction of the amount of generated waste by 1%.

Economic Activity of Population in Opolskie Voivodship in the 1st quarter of 2022

Quarterly information about labour market was compiled on the basis of generalised results of representative Labour Force Survey (LFS), carried out in the 1st quarter of 2022, compared to results of these surveys from the previous quarter and corresponding periods of 2021 and 2010. The study contains information about, i.a. economic activity level of the population by demographic and social characteristics, employed and unemployed persons and reasons for economic inactivity.
Included in the study are recalculated LFS results for years 2010-2022, according to introduced change in definitions of main categories of persons on a labour market (applicable definitions are provided in the publication: Labour force survey in Poland).

Children in Mazowieckie voivodship in 2020

The Statistical Office in Warszawa has prepared the next edition of the publication “Children in Mazowieckie Voivodship” using data coming from statistical surveys as well as from administrative sources. The information presented in graphical form with short analytical comments concern: demographic phenomena, the child’s place in the family and beyond, supporting families with dependent children, social care, health and medical care, education and upbringing, culture and leisure, as well as threats to health and life. In order to show the diversity within the region, selected data were presented at the level of urban areas, rural areas and powiats. The publication ends with a comparison of Mazovia with other voivodships in the country, as illustrated by numerous charts.
