Short-term analysis of phenomena and processes in the national economy, including monthly, quarterly and annual information, among others, on the labour market, wages and salaries, prices, basic areas of the national economy (agriculture, industry, construction, the domestic market), balance of payments and foreign trade.

The publication presents assessments regarding the current and anticipated economic situation formulated by entrepreneurs, as well as opinions on, among others barriers encountered in the business.

The quantity of production of selected industrial products manufactured by entities, in which the number of persons employed exceedies 49. The information relates to the production of finished products for sale, as well as for further processing inside the enterprise, produced from own and entrusted raw materials.

In the first three months of 2020, there was a decrease in the total number of tourists accom-modated in accommodation establishments - by 17.3%, and in the number of overnight stays - by 13.6%, compared to the first quarter of 2019. At the same time, a decrease in the number of foreign tourists by 21.8% was recorded.

At the end of 2019, outpatient health care was carried out by 21.8 thousand outpatient departments and 4.4 thousand doctors and dentists practices providing services funded by public sources. During the year, 291.5 milllion doctors consultations and 34.3 million dentists consultations were provided.

In 1st quarter of 2020, financial results of cultural institutions were higher than those achieved in comparable period of the previous year. Total revenues increased by 3.5% and total costs by 3.0%. Investment outlays increased by 18.0%.

In May 2020 entities having 50 or more persons employed and participating in the monthly survey of production of industrial products, on voluntary basis additionally reported production of 2 044 715 face masks used in medicine and 22 149 899 other protective face masks.

In the 1st quarter of 2020, a decrease in border traffic was observed compared to the same period of the previous year – of foreigners by 11.7%, of Poles by 10.7%.

The elaboration contains information on revenues, costs, financial results, liabilities as well as economic indicators of non-financial entities engaged in economic activities in Śląskie Voivodship in the years 2017–2019. Statistical data presented in the breakdown by ownership sectors, powiats and selected sections and divisions of the PKD 2007. The statistical material presented in a tabular form in an Excel file is supplemented by methodological notes containing a description of the scope of the survey and explanation of basic concepts as well as analytical commentary enriched with a graphical presentation of data in the form of charts and maps.
