Data were compiled on the basis of information on value and quantity of procurement by legal persons and independent organizational entities without legal personality (without natural persons).

In the period of seven months of 2015 there were less dwellings completed than the year before. The number of dwellings for which permits have been granted or which have been registered with a construction project and the number of dwellings in which construction has begun increased.

In July of 2015, sold production of industry was by 3.8% higher than in July of 2014, whereas a decrease of 0.1% was reported in construction-assembly production.

According to preliminary data, the prices of sold production of industry in July 2015 were of 0.4% lower than in the previous month. The drop of prices was recorded in mining and quarrying of 2.3%, of which in mining of metal ores (of 5.9%) and in mining of coal and lignite (of 0.1%).

Price index of construction and assembly production in the second quarter of 2015 decreased by 0.1% as compared to the first quarter of 2015.

From the nineties on, tertiary education has been subject to significant changes, for which legal bases was the Higher Education Law dated 12 September 1990 (Journal of Laws No. 65, item 385, with later amendments) which has regulated functioning of higher education institutions. Aside from existing public institutions, non-public higher education institutions have been established and developed. The Master’s system of studies has been modified by introducing two-cycle system of tertiary education enabling to continue education after receiving the Bachelor’s degree or Engineer title on second-cycle programmes, earlier referred to as supplementary Master’s studies. Within existing structures, some institutions conduct regular studies with a foreign language as a lecture language. Students have also possibility to choose an individual course of studies.
