Foreign trade turnover of goods in total and by countries in January-June 2019

Foreign trade turnover in January–June this year according to exports at current prices amounted to PLN 495.0 bn, while imports amounted to PLN 495.8 bn. The negative balance reached the level of PLN 0.8 bn, while in the same period last year amounted to minus PLN 7.9 bn. In comparison to the corresponding period of the 2018, exports increased by 6.6%, and imports by 5.0%.

Flash estimate of Gross Domestic Product in the 2nd quarter of 2019

According to the flash estimate, gross domestic product (GDP) in volume terms seasonally unadjusted was higher by 4.4% in the 2nd quarter of 2019 year-to-year against 5.3% in the corresponding period of 2018.

Price indices of consumer goods and services in July 2019

Consumer prices in July 2019 remained on average at the level similar to the one recorded in the previous month (with an increse of prices of services – by 0,6% and a decrease of prices of goods – by 0,2%). Compared with the corresponding month of the previous year, consumer prices increased by 2,9% (of which services – by 4,2% and goods – by 2,4%).

The President of the Republic of Poland signed the Act on the National Agricultural Census

The President of the Republic of Poland signed the Act on the National Agricultural Census. The act regulates the scope, form and manner of conducting the census in 2020, as well as the scope, form and mode of works related to the preparation and elaboration of the census results.

Residential construction in the period of January-July 2019

In the period of seven months of 2019 there were more dwellings completed than the year before. The number of dwellings in which construction has begun and the number of dwellings for which permits have been granted or which have been registered with a construction project also increased.

According to preliminary data in July 2019 the prices of sold production of industry were higher in comparison with the previous month by 0.1%. In comparison with the corresponding period of the last year the prices increased by 0.6%.

In July of 2019 value of construction and assembly production in constant prices increased, both in a monthly and increasing basis, compared to corresponding periods of the previous year.

Index numbers of sold production of industry in July 2019

In July 2019, sold production of industry was by 5.8% higher than in July 2018, when the growth was recorded by 10.3%, whereas in comparison with June 2019, it increased by 2.8%. In the period January-July of 2019, sold production of industry was by 5.1% higher than in the corresponding period of 2018, when an increase of 6.7% was recorded.

According to preliminary data in July 2019 the prices of construction and assembly production were higher by 0.2% in comparison with previous month and by 3.5% in comparison with July 2018.

Socio-economic situation of the country in July 2019

It provides a short-term analysis of phenomena and processes in the national economy, including monthly, quarterly and annual information, among others, on the labour market, prices, wages and salaries, basic areas of the national economy (agriculture, industry, construction, the domestic market), foreign trade, money supply and public finances.

The results of the labour force survey (LFS) indicate that in the second quarter of 2019, economically active per-sons constituted 56.2% of the population aged 15 years and more. Compared to the previous quarter, the rate increased by 0.3 percentage point, whereas in the second quarter of 2018 it decreased by 0.3 percentage point.

In 2018, 41078 apartments were completed, of which 57% are dwellings built in Warsaw capital city. The share of dwellings in the voivodship accounted for 22.2% of construction effects in the country. The number of dwellings in which construction has begun increased, while the number of dwellings for which construction permits have been graned or which have been registered with a construction project decreased.
