The Act regulates the scope, form and manner of conducting the National Agricultural Census in 2020 by the President of Statistics Poland, as well as the scope, form and mode of works related to the preparation and elaboration of the results of the census.

The agricultural census is aimed at providing an information base on agricultural holdings, necessary for the implementation of national, regional and local agricultural and social policy in rural areas. Also, it aims to conduct analysis of changes that took place in agriculture over the period 2010-2020.

The census will be kept on agricultural holdings of natural persons (family farms), and of legal persons and organisational units having no legal personality.

The census will be conducted in Poland from September 1 to November 30, 2020. Information on the structure of agriculture and agricultural holdings in Poland will be collected as of 1 June 2020. The administrator of data collected in the census will be the President of Statistics Poland.

The Act provides for three methods of obtaining data: by an Internet self-analysis, telephone interview and direct interview of user of an agricultural holding with the census interviewer.

The farmers contacted by census interviewer, will be able to verify his or her identity using information posted on Statistics Poland website and websites of voivodeship statistical offices, as well as by phone.
