On 4-5 February 2025 in Gdansk the conference 'Web Intelligence Network. From Web to Data" lasts, summarising the results of the work of the international ESSnet Web Intelligence Network project (ESSnet WIN), coordinated by the Statistics Poland.

Representatives from European statistical offices and international organizations are participating in the meeting.

The event is an excellent opportunity to discuss and explain methods and concepts for working with online data sources. It aims to raise awareness of the opportunities that web data can offer to official statisticians. The conference provides an opportunity to share the achievements of the WIN project and to highlight the continued growth and development of the use of web data - a space to delve into the vast possibilities of new data sources.

The ESSnet WIN [link: https://cros.ec.europa.eu/landing-page/web-intelligence-network]  project has particularly focused on web data and the capability to augment official statistics. An intrinsic part of its work has been the development of solid methodological and quality foundations for generating statistics with web data. The project consortium has engaged 17 organisations from 14 European countries. The Network has worked hand-in-hand with Eurostat, contributing to the development of the Web Intelligence Hub – an ESS-wide web intelligence environment to allow the production of statistics with internet data and intensively invested in competency-building and sharing knowledge on using web data in official statistics.
