As at the last day of November 2024, there were 15 160.5 thousand employed persons in the national economy. The average age and median age of employed persons in the national economy were similar. The average age was 42.8 years and the median age was 42.0 years.

Mass events in 2024

In 2024, 6.9 thousand mass events were organised in Poland. The events gathered a total of 28.2 million participants. Compared to 2023, the number of organised mass events increased by 8.7% and the number of participants increased by 4.7%.

The current consumer confidence indicator, synthetically describing the current trends in individual consumption, was minus 16.5 which was by 1.3 p.p. lower in relation to last month.

Foster care in 2024

At the end of 2024, in foster care there were 77.3 thousand children, including 59.8 thousand in family foster care and 17.5 thousand in institutional foster care. In comparison to 2023, the number of children in foster care increased by 2.6%.

Retail sales index - March 2025

In March 2025 retail sales at constant prices were by 0.3% lower than the year before (against an increase of 6.1% in March 2024). Compared with February 2025, an increase by 14.3% in retail sales was recorded. In the period of January-March 2025 sales increased y/y by 1.4% (against an increase by 5.0% in the corresponding period of 2024).
