In October 2020, sold production of industry was by 1.0% higher than in October 2019, when an increase was recorded by 3.7% as compared to the previous year, whereas in comparison with September 2020, it increased by 3.2%. In the period January-October of 2020, sold production of industry was by 2.7% lower than in the corresponding period of 2019, which saw a growth by 4.3%.

According to preliminary data in October 2020 the prices of sold production of industry decreased in comparison with the corresponding month of the previous year by 0.4% but in comparison with September 2020 increased by 0.4%.

In each of presented kinds of activities general business climate indicator in November is at a lower level than in the previous month. Only in information and communication section the indicator is positive. Deterioration of “forecast” components is observed in all research areas, whereas worsening of “diagnostic” ones is reported in most areas.

In November 2020, there was a deterioration in both current and future consumer sentiment moods compared to the previous month. The current consumer confidence indicator, synthetically describing the current trends in individual consumption, was -29.2a which was by 9.2 p.p. lower in relation to last month.

In October 2020, average paid employment in enterprise sector was lower by 1.0% y/y and amounted to 6318.3 thousand, while average gross wages and salaries were higher by 4.7% y/y and amounted to 5458.88 PLN.

Foreign trade turnover1 in the January – September this year according to exports at current prices amounted to PLN 746.3 bn, while imports amounted to PLN 712.9 bn. The positive balance reached the level of PLN 33.4 bn, while in the same period of 2019 year amounted to PLN 2.3 bn. In comparison to the corresponding period of the 2019, both exports and imports decreased by 1.8% and 5.9% respectively.
