In the 1st quarter of 2023 financial results of the surveyed non-financial enterprises were similar to those obtained a year earlier. The economic and financial indicators decreased. Investment outlays were higher by 7.2% than those recorded in the 1st quarter of 2022 (when there was an increase by 1.3%).

Statistics Poland informs that in October 2022 revised data on gross domestic product (GDP) and gross national income (GNI) will be published. Initial information on the revision was published on 14th August 2020 in the Information on planned cyclical revisions of national accounts in 2020-2022[1].

In April 2022 retail sales[1] at constant prices were by 19,0% higher than the year before (against an increase of 21.1% in April 2021). Compared with March 2022 retail sales decreased by 0.1%. In the period of January-Apil[2] 2022 retail sales y/y were by 10.8% higher (against an increase of 6.4 in 2021).

Acording to preliminary data construction and assembly production (in constant prices) carried out carried out domestically by construction enterprises employing more than 9 persons was in April 2022 by 9.3% higher than a year before (against a decrease of 4.2% the year before) and by 5.9% lower compared with March 2022 (an increase of 9.9% the year before).

In the first four months of 2022, there were more dwellings completed than the year before. Whereas the number of dwellings for which permits have been granted or which have been registered with a construction project as well as dwellings in which construction has begun decreased.

As of 31 December 2021, in Poland there were 2 015 stationary social welfare facilities, which had 127.3 thousand places in total in all facilities. 114.3 thousand residents stayed in stationary social welfare facilities, including 55.5 thousand women.

Price index of construction and assembly production in the first quarter of 2022 as compared to the fourth quarter of 2021 increased by 3.4 %.
