Child-raising benefits

Definition:

Their purpose is to partially cover expenditures related to the care and upbringing of a child and to meet his life needs.

The "Family 500+" Programme came into force on April 1, 2016. Since July 1, 2019, child-raising benefit is payable for every child up to the age of 18, regardless of the family's income. From June 1, 2022, the Social Insurance Institution deals with the examination of applications and the granting and payment of the child-raising benefits. Existing suplements for children in foster care (paid until May 31, 2022) were replaced by the child-raising benefit. From January 1, 2024, benefits amount to PLN 800 per month. The data also includes applicants with a foreign address for whom benefits are paid in the country.
