The study constitutes a response to the growing interest in civil society issues, as well as provides the data necessary for assessment of implementation of public policies concerning support for social economy and social capital, and what is more, it serves for monitoring of the situation in non-governmental organizations covered by the Act on public benefit activity and volunteerism. This year’s issue of the publication was enriched with an analysis of rural housewives' clubs.

The publication consists of three analytical chapters presenting the following: the characteristics of the non-profit sector and its potential, territorial differentiation, as well as key changes that took place within this sector in 2010-2020. In addition, in this issue of the publication the authors described the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the situation of third sector in Poland and organizations involvement in reducing the social effects of the pandemic.
