As part of this methodological handbook, the methodology and organisation of the survey of prices in foreign trade is presented. The content of this document summarises the experience gained during the implementation of the survey on foreign trade prices, as well as the results of the methodological work conducted in this area in recent years.

The purpose of the survey is to provide information on monthly changes in prices of goods subject to the international trade and to provide information on price movements in Polish foreign trade. Short-term and accurate price measurement in foreign trade plays an important role in economic policy-making. It allows to evaluate the magnitude of imported inflation and the profitability of exports, it also enables measurement of competitiveness and imported goods on the domestic market.
