Community cohesion, well-being and local development edited by Włodzimierz Okrasa and Dominik Rozkrut is a scientific monograph published recently in the framework of the Statistical Research Papers series. The monograph consists of presentations delivered during a conference organised jointly by the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw and Statistics Poland on 4 December 2018. The subject of the conference as well as of the book is the relationships between the broadly-understood well-being of members of local communities and these communities’ level of development and features that define the pattern of local development. The interdisciplinary approach to this complex problem allowed a number of distinct perspectives on the conceptual, measurement-connected, analytical and application-connected issues relating to different forms of dependency of quality of life and well-being on the degree and patterns of development of territorial units and on their variety.
