Energy from renewable sources in 2024
In 2024, the share of energy from renewable sources in gross final energy consumption amounted to 17.7%, which constitute an decrease of 1.0 percentage points compared to 2023. At the same time, the power sector recorded an increase of 4.6 percentage points in the share of electricity from renewable energy sources in gross final energy consumption compared to the previous year.
Directive (EU) 2023/2413 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 18 October 2023 on the promotion of the use of energy from renewable sources (recast) established new tar-gets for the European Union for 2030 and modified the rules for calculating the share of en-ergy from renewable sources in gross final consumption from 2021 onwards1.
