Active enterprises in the second quarter of 2026

In the second quarter of 2026, there were 2 896 481 active enterprises in Poland. With regard to the kind of economic activity, the largest population were enterprises from section trade; repair of motor vehicles (16.5% of total). The largest number of active enterprises had their registered offices in the Mazowieckie voivodship (20.2% of total).
In the second quarter of 2026, compared to the same period in 2025, there was an increase of 1.6% in the number of active enterprises. Micro entities (i.e. with up to 9 persons employed) accounted for 96.0% of all active enterprises, and compared to the second quarter of 2025, their number increased by 1.8%. Small entities (i.e. with 10 to 49 persons employed), medium entities (i.e. with 50 to 249 persons employed), and large entities (i.e. with 250 or more persons employed) accounted for 3.3%, 0.6%, and 0.2% of all active enterprises, respectively. In these three size classes, a decrease in the number of enterprises was observed compared to the second quarter of 2025: for small enterprises by 1.1%, medium-sized enterprises by 1.0% and large enterprises by 0.3%.
