Increase in the number of persons practicing sports in sports clubs compared to 2020 was 10%. In 2022, there were 14,476 sports clubs and 70 Polish sports associations. Compared to 2020, the number of sports clubs increased by 1.6%. With respect to 2021, the number of Polish representatives, judges and coaches holding licenses of the Polish sports associations increased, while the number of competitors and instructors decreased. Compared to 2018, the number of stadiums and sports fields for big games increased by 3.4%, sports halls and gyms by 5.2%, and indoor swimming pools by 5.7%. The largest number of clubs operated in Mazowieckie Voivodship (10.1%), followed by Małopolskie Voivodship (10.0%), Śląskie Voivodship (9.9%) and Wielkopolskie Voivodship (9.8%), and the smallest in Świętokrzyskie Voivodship (2.0%). In 2022, sports clubs had 1.1 milliosports n members and persons practicing sports. Compared to 2020, both the number of members (up 5.6%) and the number of persons practicing sports (up 10.0%) increased. As in previous years, the vast majority of persons practicing sports were men - 72.5%. Invariably, young people under the age of 18 prevailed among persons practicing sports - 71.0%.
