Forest land area, as of 31 December 2025, comprised 9489.5 thousand ha, with forest area amounting to 9290.8 thousand ha, i.e. 29.6% of the area of the country. In 2025, forest renewals covered 60.3 thousand ha and afforestation – 0.8 thousand ha. In 2025, in comparison with the previous year, there was a 3.5% decrease in total removals to 39764.6 thousand m3 with timber removals, dropping by 3.7%, to 37992.1 thousand m3.
