Consumer prices according to the flash estimate in December 2019, compared with the corresponding month of the previous year, increased by 3,4% (price index 103,4), and as related to the previous month increased by 0,8% (price index 100,8).

Price indices of residential premises in the third quarter 2019

Prices of residential premises in the third quarter 2019, compared to the previous quarter, incresed by 2.1% (of which on the primary market - by 0.4% and on the secondary market - by 3.5%). Compared to the corresponding quarter of 2018, prices of residential premises incresed by 9.0% (of which on the primary mar-ket - by 6.7% and on the secondary market - by 10.9%).

Foreign trade turnover of goods in total and by countries in January-November 2019

Foreign trade turnover in January-November this year according to exports at current prices amounted to PLN 934.0 bn, while imports amounted to PLN 926.0 bn. The positive balance reached the level of PLN 8.0 bn, while in the same period 2018 year amounted to minus PLN 13.5 bn.

Consumer price indices in December 2019

Consumer prices in December 2019 comapred with the corresponding month of the previous year increased by 3,4% (with an increase of prices of services – by 6,1% and goods – by 2,4%). As related to the previous month consumer prices increased by 0,8% (of which services – by 1,5% and goods – by 0,5%).

In 2019 there were more dwellings completed than the year before. The number of dwellings in which construction has begun and the number of dwellings for which permits have been granted or which have been registered with a construction project also increased.

Average paid employment and average gross wages and salaries in enterprise sector in December 2019

In December 2019, average paid employment in enterprise sector was higher by 2.6% y/y and amounted to 6396.0 thousand, and average gross wages and salaries were higher by 6.2% y/y and amounted to 5604.25 PLN.

Index numbers of construction and assembly production in December 2019

According to preliminary data construction and assembly production (in constant prices) carried out domestically by construction enterprises employing more than 9 persons was in December 2019 by 3.3% lower than a year before and by 23.7% higher compared with November 2019 (against increases accordingly by 12.3% and by 21.8% in the corresponding period of 2018).

Entrepreneurs from majority of scrutinised kinds of activities claim than general business climate indicator (NSA) is better than in December. Only entities operating in the filed of retail trade assess it as slightly worse than last month.

According to preliminary data in December 2019 the prices of sold production of industry were higher in comparison with XII 2018 by 1.0% and in comparison with November 2019 by 0.1%.

In December 2019, sold production of industry was by 3.8% higher than in December 2018, when the growth was recorded by 2.9%, whereas in comparison with November 2019, it decreased by 9.4%. Energy consumption in households in 2018

The publication contains detailed information on the energy consumption quantities and values, including the energy from the renewable sources, as well as on the household energy consumption by the purpose of use, on the ownership of the energy consuming devices and on the structural factors which influence the consumption characteristics. The information on fuel consumption by the passenger cars used in households is also presented.

Consumer tendency - January 2020

In January 2020, a slight deterioration in the current consumer moods was recorded, while the future consumer moods slightly improved compared to the previous month. The current consumer confidence indicator, synthetically describing the current trends in individual consumption, was 3.7 and was 0.6 p.p. lower in relation to last month.

In December 2019 retail sales at constant prices were by 5.7% higher than the year before (against a growth of 3.9% in December 2018). Compared with November 2019 retail sales increased by 14.1%. In the period of January-December 2019 retail sales y/y were by 5.4% higher (against a growth of 6.2% in 2018).
