On the 2nd and 3rd of April 2022, the Targowa Creativity Center in Warsaw will host Datathon #OpenData. This is another edition of the programming marathon organized by the Chancellery of the Prime Minister of Poland, as a Leader of the “Open Data Plus” project, in which the Statistics Poland is a Partner.

The aim of the event is to develop application prototypes using open data, in particular the data provided through API on the dane.gov.pl portal. The application would help Ukrainian citizens fleeing the war in solving the current social problems.

At least one API from dane.gov.pl portal provided by the Partners of this event should be used in the contest (API to the Knowledge Databases, API to the TREZOR 3.0 or API to the Public System Registers for Tourism). Authors of the best projects that will work with API to the Knowledge Databases (DBW API) released by the Statistics Poland, will receive attractive financial prize.

The DBW API is a response to the needs of active users of statistical data looking for current and reliable information. It contains rich resources of statistical data published in long time series and full cross-sections. The data are grouped into 31 thematic areas, containing information from various fields of socio-economic life and the environment.

Datathon #OpenData is aimed to anyone interested in the subject of open data, programmers, graphic designers, data analysts and all who have an idea how to create an application that responds to the current social problems from open data provided on dane.gov.pl portal.

In addition to rewards, participants will have the opportunity to take advantage of interesting workshops and consultations with mentors - experts of particular APIs, including the API to the Knowledge Databases.

Datathon #OpenData is organized under the "Open Data Plus" project from the Operational Program Digital Poland (POPC) for 2014-2020.
