For many years the Central Statistical Office has published a wide range of information allowing for the indepth analysis of particular quality of life aspects. In this, 4th edition of the publication, we present the updated set of core indicators that enable the assessment of important areas of quality of life. It has been assumed that core indicators refer to individuals or households and include both the objective and the subjective measures. Both types of indicators should be considered as complementary.

It outlines the Polish maritime economy – the condition and structure of business entities, the number of employees, economic results, sea and maritime and coastal transport fleet and transport made by Polish maritime carriers, cargo turnover, the movement of passengers and ships in ports, shipbuilding, marine fisheries and fishery, maritime education and science.

It describes dwellings completed by forms of construction (cooperative, company, municipal, individual, intended for sale or rental, and public building society), an average duration of construction of residential buildings, cubic volume of residential buildings completed, methods of erecting buildings, and buildings by the number of floors. The number of permits issued for the construction of dwellings and new residential buildings, the number of dwellings started, dwellings under construction, permits for the construction of new non-residential buildings and other construction facilities are also included.

The human capital condition in Poland. Specification of thematic groups within the human capital permits an elementary analysis of each area affecting the development of human capital. The study contains a list of indicators concerning such fields as demographics, health, education, labour market, culture, science, technology and innovations, and economic and social conditions of human capital development, containing indicators directly affecting the quality of human capital.
