Occupancy of tourist accommodation establishments in 2019

In 2019, 35.7 million tourists were accommodated in tourist accommodation establishments, with 93.3 million nights spent. Compared to 2018, it was more by 5.2% and 5.0%, respectively. The occupancy rate of bed places in all tourist accommodation establishments in 2019 ammounted to 40.6% and was higher by 0.5 percentage point compared to the previous year.

At the end of 2018, 1 859 enterprises in Poland (an increase as compared to 2017 by 1.1%) declared involvement in 3 849 foreign entities (a decrease by 2.3% comparing to 2017) in the form of shares, branches or other forms. Majority of foreign entities were located in Germany, Czechia, Ukraine and Russia.

83,205 persons injured in accidents at work were reported in 2019, by 1.3% fewer than in 2018. The number of injured persons per 1,000 employed persons also decreased (the so-called incidence rate) from 6.37 in 2018 to 6.15 in 2019.
