Transit cargo traffic


Definition:

Traffic of cargo originating in a foreign consignor for a foreign consignee, transported to a Polish seaport by land or using inland waterways or sea routes, transshipped in a port for a further carriage by sea or using land or inland waterways routes.



There are the following types of transit: sea, land -to-sea and sea-to-land. The sea transit refers to cargo carried to a seaport for a further transport by sea. The land-to-sea transit refers to cargo carried to a seaport by land or using inland waterways routes for a further transport by sea. The sea-to-land transit refers to cargo carried to a seaport by sea for a further transport by land.
