Duration of employment search by LFS

Definition:

The number of full months of the continuous job search period counted from its beginning to the end of the reference week or until finding a job.

The continuous period of job search means a period without a significant break of one month or more.

In the case of unemployed persons previously in employment, the period of job search cannot be longer than the length of the period since the person last worked. This means that the duration of job search should not include the period when the respondent started looking for another job while working in his/her last job.
