Private household by LFS


Definition:

Group of people related by blood or marriage or not related, living together in the same dwelling and maintaining themselves jointly. If any of the persons living together maintains him/herself independently, he/she constitutes a separate one-person household.



Among the members of a household are counted the following persons:
- persons present in a household (registered for a permanent or temporary stay, staying or intending to stay without registering for 12 months and more),
- persons absent (the total duration of actual and planned absence is considered) for duration shorter than 12 months (e.g. persons staying temporarily abroad, living in institutional households or other households in the country for duration shorter than 12 months).
Among the members of the household are not included persons who stayed 12 months or longer abroad or in institutional households (such as lodging-houses for employees, student hostels, boarding schools, social welfare homes, etc.) and homeless people.
