Sea and freshwater fish catches


Definition:

Data concerning fish catches include saltwater and freshwater fish, crustaceans, molluscs and other invertebrates in live weight and recreational catches where available. Data do not include aquatic mammals, aquatic plants, corals, pearls, sponges and crocodiles as well as all kinds of fish farming, of which mariculture and aquaculture. Data on sea fish include sea creatures. Data on freshwater fish include aquaculture production, commercial fishing and fishing. Data on freshwater fish exclude production of fish-stocking materials in ponds.
