Time during which the employee remains at the disposal of the employer at the employing establishment or at another place designated for the performance of work.

Working time also includes periods of breaks during which the employee remained at the disposal of the employing establishment, if they occurred by virtue of law or with the consent of the employing establishment (e.g. employee illness, care for a sick family member, fulfilling social duties, dealing with important family matters, annual leave, unpaid leave), as well as unjustified absences.
