Population


Definition:

According to the national definition, population of the given gmina includes persons residing (staying) therefore the period of at least 3 months. This means that the size of population of the given gmina includes:
– permanent residents (persons registered there) excluding those inhabitants, who left for at least 3 months to another gmina within Poland,
– persons who came from another place in Poland for the period of 3 months.
Population of the gmina does not include immigrants temporarily residing in Poland, while permanent residents of Poland temporarily residing abroad (regardless of the period of absence) are included in the population size of the given gmina.



Population is one of two categories of residence, next to residents prepared, by the Central Statistical Office.
