Net internal migration


Definition:

Difference in the number of people who arrived in a given period in the administrative unit from other places of the country and the number of people who in this period left this unit to move to other places in the country (inflow-outflow).



In the current migration statistics for permanent residence based on administrative data sources, the number of arrivals in a given administrative unit is the number of people who registered for permanent residence in the unit in a given period; the number of people who left the unit is the number of people who registered in other units for permanent residence and were previously registered in this unit.
Internal migration balance for the country as a whole is equal to 0.
