Square mean


Definition:

The classical measure of position (central tendency) is calculated as the square root of the arithmetic mean of the squares of the variable individual values. In descriptive statistics, the quadratic mean is used for calculating the standard deviation (mean square difference of the variable value and average value of this variable).
