Since the end of the 1960s, the Central Statistical Office has been conducting historical and statistical research aiming at documenting phenomena, processes, and events relating to the development of Poland, starting from the earliest times for which numerical characteristics of phenomena could be found. In the beginning of the 1990s, the research gained pace and was intensified. Successive editorial boards and authors’ teams were mainly searching out, comparing, verifying, and analysing discovered statistical sources. The authors of all studies were also engaged in research on the achievements of the established statistical institutions, mainly the national or supra-regional bodies. The research has resulted in the acquisition of unique academic methodology and tools concerning statistical studies. Appointed by the President of the Central Statistical Office, the Editorial Board provides you with the 3rd volume of the collected edition ”Historia Polski w liczbach” (”History of Poland in Numbers”) based on the thematic journals issued by the CSO since 1990. |
