Together with the press release on “General government deficit and debt in 2016", the Central Statistical Office publishes a revised estimate of gross domestic product for the year 2016.

The data has been developed in accordance with the European System of National and Regional Accounts (ESA2010) introduced by European Parliament and Council Regulation (EU) No 549/2013 of 21 May 2013 and the guidelines contained in the Manual on Government Deficit and Debt, Implementation of ESA2010, edition 2016.

Presented data on gross domestic product and its components were revised in comparison to the previously published (21 April 2017) due to:

• taking into account the more complete annual information on the results for the whole of 2016 on: finance of corporations, foreign trade in goods and services, developing results for October general government deficit and debt based on the final source data for 2016 and the use of data available at that time from administrative sources;

• reclassification of further public entities into the general government sector, starting with the data for 2010.

The real growth rate for gross domestic product increased in 2016 by 2.9% in comparison to the previously published increase by 2.7%. The positive impact of net exports on the economic growth was recorded +0.7 percentage points (against +0.3 percentage points); positive impact of domestic demand was reduced by +2.2 percentage points (against +2.4 percentage points).
