Social assistance benefits paid to Ukrainian citizens in 2022

In 2022, 1111.0 thousand people benefited from social assistance benefits. The total amount allocated for these benefits was PLN 364.8 million, which accounted for nearly 8% of the total amount paid in the country for both Polish and Ukrainian citizens.

Residents of Ukraine who have arrived in Poland and whose stay has been recognised as legal, on the basis of the Act of 12 March 2022 on Assistance to Citizens of Ukraine in Connection with Armed Conflict on the Territory of that State (Journal of Laws 2022, item 583), are entitled to support within the framework of community social assistance. Monetary and non-monetary benefits may be granted to a citizen of Ukraine, under the rules and procedure of the Act of 12 March 2004 on social assistance.
