Modernization of the Central Library of the Stefan Szulc was completed at the end of June 2015. The task was carried out as part of the Public Statistics Information System SISP-2. The aim of it was improve the availability of collections for readers on site as well as over the Internet.

Thanks to the modernization works:

  • Central Statistical Library has a new website http://cbs.stat.gov.pl.
  • Our collections constituting a part of the National Library Collection was digitalized. In this project 419 books were scanned with a total number over 60 000 pages. The digital versions are available in high quality PDF and TIFF files. As a results of this efforts we  are able to offer access to especially valuable statistical and cartographic publications, mainly from the period of the partitions (1795-1918) and the interwar period (1918-1939).
  • Digitized collections of the Central Statistical Library are available on webpage http://cbs.stat.gov.pl/ and via Digital Libraries Federation in the European Digital Library (Europeana).
  • The Central Statistical Library was equipped with computer workstations allowing the use of electronic services provided by public statistics, and browse the digitized collections.
  • We can offer a free access to all resources of the Central Statistical Library.
     

Modernization of the Central Statistical Library was also designed to eliminate architectural barriers and facilitating access to collected resources and services for people with reduced mobility.
