Definition:
The sum of the construction length of standard gauge, narrow gauge and large gauge railway lines operated on 31 December. The construction length of railway lines is defined as the distance between its extremes measured on single-track lines - along the axis of the track, and on multi-track lines - along the axis of the longest track.
1. Normal gauge railway lines are defined as those having a span of 1,435 mm.
2. Narrow gauge railway lines are defined as those having a span of less than 1,435 mm (e.g., 1000 mm, 785 mm).
3. Wide gauge railway lines are defined as those having a span of more than 1,435 mm (e.g., 1524 mm).
