Gross reproduction rate


Definition:

The number of daughters born on average a woman, assuming that the woman in the reproductive age (15–49) will give birth with the intensity characteristic for all women giving birth in the year for which the rate is calculated (constant fertility rates).



Gross reproduction rate is calculated by multiplying the total fertility rate and ratio expressing the share of female births in the total number of live births.
