Statistical region

Definition:

Spatial unit of statistical data aggregation, composed of several, not more than nine, census enumeration area.

The criterion of size of a statistical region is the number of dwellings and population amounting to not more than 2700 persons and 999 dwellings. Each statistical region is assigned a unique six-digit identification number. In case of exceeding the maximum number of census enumeration area, as well as number of dwellings and persons, the statistical region's division is made. The division into statistical regions is always fitted to borders of territorial division units and coherent with the borders of geodetic units used in the register of land and buildings, and in rural areas with the borders of localities. A statistical region may not be made of combination of an entire locality (localities) with parts of another locality (localities). A building may not be divided between two or more statistical regions and is entirely part of one statistical region, regardless of the number of dwellings and persons inhabiting the region.
