Price index of construction and assembly production

Definition:

Index is calculated on the basis of a monthly survey of prices of works representatives (about 3.5 thous. monthly) realized by purposively selected economic entities (about 400 annual) included in the ''Construction'' section according to Polish Classification of Activities (PKD 2007), in which the number of employees amounts to 10 and more persons. The survey covers prices calculated on a current the cost-price basis in surveyed units according to generally applied rules on calculation of price of construction and assembly production. Price indices at the economic entity level are calculated as weighted averages of price indices of representative items using, as a weight system, the value of their sale in the month under the survey.

The weight system for calculation of the aggregated price indices of construction and assembly production is based on the sales structure carried out in the reference year by economic entities in which the number of employees amounts to 10 and more persons. The reference year is changed every 5 years, e.g. 2010, 2015. This system takes into account the price and the sales structure changes, occurring in subsequent months of a year, to which the price indices refer.
